CODE OF CONDUCT

Be a good sport, play for enjoyment

Compete according to the spirit and rules of the competition. Accept the Umpire’s decision.

Control your behaviour and temper on and off the field. Do not criticise by word or gesture.

Treat all team mates and opponents as you would prefer to be treated yourself.

Work equally hard for yourself and your team - your team’s performance will benefit and so will your own.

Be a good sport. Encourage and support your own team members.

Co-operate with your coach and team mates. Show respect for your opponents and their skills.

Be friendly to all participants.

Help set up & pack up fields where able, and look after your gear.

The use of alcohol, tobacco and non-prescribed drugs is not permitted. Any illegal behaviour will be referred to the police.

The use of any form of electronic or social media
- must not offend, intimidate, humiliate or bully another person
- must not be misleading, false or injure the reputation of another person
- should respect and maintain the privacy of members
- must not bring the club or the game of baseball into disrepute.
Consequences for player breaches of this code:
Team coaches may deal immediately with any breaches of this code by imposing appropriate consequences, including not playing remaining fixtures, notification of parents, and reporting the breach to Club Officials.

• Remember, children participate in sport for their enjoyment, not yours.

Organise to have your child at training/games on time. Contact the Coach or Manager if you will be late or absent.

Ensure your child has all necessary equipment, uniform, water and protection, batting helmet (sun block, protector (boys)).

Encourage all children to play by the rules and to settle disagreements without resorting to hostility or violence.

Remember, your behaviour is being watched and listened to by children. Lead by good example. Appreciate good performances and skillful plays by ALL participants regardless of team.

Never ridicule or yell at a player for making a mistake.

Focus on the players’ efforts rather than winning or losing.

Please talk to your Coach/Manager if you have any problems or concerns.

Respect Officials’ decisions and teach children to do likewise.

Show appreciation for volunteer coaches/managers, scorers, officials and administrators.

Help out with routine tasks such as: setting up & packing down of diamonds, screeding (both diamonds), umpire duty, team rosters, raising team levy, canteen roster, field maintenance etc.)
